Téo Xisto selected as 2026 Well-Being by Design Fellow

Joan Ganz Cooney Center

Téo Xisto, Creative Learning Coordinator in the Lifelong Kindergarten group, has been named one of nine recipients of the 2026 Joan Ganz Cooney Center Well-Being by Design Fellowship.

Through the fellowship, recipients develop projects through the lens of prioritizing children’s wellbeing — centering care, equity, and responsibility early in the design of digital experiences. Supported by Pinterest and foundry10, the five-month program includes workshops, expert consultations, and collaborative learning, beginning with an in-person convening at Sesame Workshop’s headquarters in New York City and culminating in a public virtual webinar and published case studies.

Téo’s work focuses on OctoStudio, a free creative coding app developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten group and used by millions of learners worldwide. Through collaborations with educators and young people, Téo helps design learning experiences that foster creativity, care, and community — values closely aligned with the fellowship’s focus on wellbeing by design. As part of this work, Téo’s project will create a set of OctoStudio projects and supporting resources for “Family Game Night”–style games.
