Our project develops adaptive intervention systems for social media platforms where younger generations now spend an average of more than 2 hours daily. Having access to smartphones and using social media multiple times daily, these platforms have become primary socialization spaces.
Our system delivers personalized, context-aware interventions during social media usage that adapt to individual behavior patterns and preferences. By monitoring scrolling habits and engagement signals, we intelligently modify when and how to intervene, creating a responsive framework that learns from user interactions. These adaptive interventions transform passive consumption into meaningful engagement opportunities, helping users build and maintain genuine social connections through technology. Rather than discouraging technology use, our approach leverages digital platforms to reinforce community bonds, encourage meaningful interactions, and promote healthier relationships with social media while respecting user autonomy.
